Sexual Harassment Workshop for 7th Grade Students
This year, Prince William County’s Student Services office has directed the Middle Schools’ Counseling Departments to conduct a Sexual Harassment workshop for all students in grade 7. The approved curriculum was shared in December, with the understanding that the program would be integrated by the end of the current school year.
We understand a family may prefer to have instruction pertaining to Sexual Harassment be provided in another venue. Every effort will be made to ensure that students understand and respect family choices in this matter in order to avoid undue peer pressure for or against the program.
Complete and return the following letter, by Monday, January 23, only if you choose to opt your child out of the Sexual Harassment instructional program

From Prince William County Schools: With schools ever more the center of communities during the holidays, we saw school after school “take care of its own,” with collection drives for warm winter clothing, food drives, and yes, care packages delivered with love. Rippon Middle School faculty and staff members opened their hearts and pocketbooks to ensure that those on hard times in their community would enjoy a special holiday season and know that they had friends to call on when the going was rough; that’s what friends are for. Concussion Education Training Required For All Sports!
Effective beginning with all fall sports for the 2011-12 school year, all student athletes and their parents or guardians will be required to attend a concussion education session provided by their respective middle and high schools. Attendance at one of these sessions is required before a student will be allowed to try out for any sport.
Rippon’s Concussion Training Schedule will be NOVEMBER 1 @ 7 P.M..; JANUARY 11, 2012 @ 7 P.M. and MARCH 20 @ 7 P.M. in the cafeteria. Doors will be locked at 7:05 p.m. For more information, please click here.
